End Mural Moratorium: Art Is Not A Crime
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
Los Angeles municipal code defines murals as signs and the permitting process constitutes an effective ban on this art.
Art in the public space is necessary for a healthy visual environment, a counter balance to grey walls and endless advertising. Los Angeles was once the ‘Mural Capital of the World’ and this city should claim that title again!
Murals are not signs and art is not a crime! Tell Mayor Villagaigosa and the L.A. City Attorney’s office to end the mural moratorium now.
Go sign on line NOW!... Follow this link http://www.change.org/petitions/end-mural-moratorium?utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=share_petition&utm_term=own_wall
The muralists in Los Angeles are at risk of being suppressed by the city. Help us fight this and preserve the art of Los Angeles people... ~4500 more signatures

Maintain Black Book Workshop
This pass saturday the 18th of September Maintain hosted a workshop for young artist that wanted to sharpen their lettering skills. Here are some pictures of the event.
Helen K. Garber and DUCE collaboration is now a part of the San Diego Auto museum
Last year I worked on a project with my good friend Helen K. Garber. I got to paint this old trailer she found in the forest. We wanted to make a statement on the housing crises that was happening during that time period. I collaborated with PRONE to create a peace that would illustrate that america was living on credit and had Insuficient funds therefore could not afford to live its lavish life style.
This trailer was exhibited widely by photographer Helen K. Garber. It's now a part of the San Diego Auto museum permanent exhibit/collection.

Downtown Los Angeles graffiti
While the hey day of graffiti in Los Angeles has passed and DTLA will never look like it did in the mid 80's and 90's one can still find graffiti hidden in the back streets and alleys of DTLA. These are some photographs taken this week.
